Seeing as I'm in TY, it means I have to do every subject which means I have like 15 different teachers. It is a nightmare remembering all their names, (not really) I just call them; Ms. or Sir :) I really like all of my teachers this year because I like the way they know that we are going through the stage of thinking about what we want to be. I think that I have a different teacher for every subject.
Some of them just do things orally, like in the class and others, not that they make you write pages about nothing , just that they expect you to try and do your best at the subject. If you don't bother or just don't care then they will get mad. Me personally I always try to do my best at every subject but it can be hard at times, because if you are doing a subject that you haven't done for Junior Cert like for me it would be Technology. I find it hard remembering things like the names for some of the equipment that we use. But you get use to it.
It can be fun sometimes, if like the teacher is in a good mood we could be allowed to watch like a video or something, I'm not saying vice versa that if he/she is in a bad mood then we have to write essays it just means that we do proper school work instead. When you have been in school for nearly 12 years you get used to doing school work :P
Some of my teachers are MAD, that's a good thing though. You will usually get excited if you know that you have them next class. :) Not that it's like doss classes but some of them we just talk like about anything, I mean like in Art the other day our teacher; Ms. O'H was talking to us about our favourite movies, so it's fun in her class because she is so happy and chirpy all the time. Being a happy and understanding teacher I think is important because if you shout at students and force them to like read, listen, write, etc. it's very hard for that student to learn because they are being forced by someone. Whereas if a teacher is happy, he/she will encourage you to do well because he/she is thinking about your future and wants you to be happy.
I really don't want to leave school because the thought of getting up and seeing your friends and maybe some of your teachers everyday is relaxing and some of the teachers make you feel like you can talk to them about anything and I think that I will be shedding a teardrop or 2 on the day I leave school and go into the big, wide and dangerous world.
Because that's why we get thought in school, all of the teachers want to teach us about things we may need to know when we leave school and they're trying to get us ready to lead our own life's and that is really important.
Good on Ye's! :)
