TY :)

For all the 3rd Years that are planning on doing TY, I would highly recommend it.
When I started secondary school the first thing I thought about was getting out of there as soon as possible, but when it was say February in 3rd Year I started wanting to do it. And I'm glad I did. Even though this meant that some of my friends were leaving me behind, I knew that I would still make new friends, and I have made a lot of life-long friends in TY. I still see some of my old friends around the school so it's not that bad.

It is a hard year though because you have to every subject at Leaving Cert level so you get an understanding of what subjects you want to do. Throughout the year, I feel that I have learned a lot about myself and who I am as a person. Instead of learning out of books, TY is all about team work, so it helps you get to know yourself and others.
People said to me last year that TY is a doss, but they are so wrong because being in TY requires a lot of hard work and even though we hardly ever get homework, we would still have about 3 projects due around the same time. You need to be a very organised person to do TY; having a folder with different sections for different subjects helps A LOT.

Here is a list below of some of the things that I have done in TY so far:
2 day trip to Carlingford.
Social Development Day.
Young Scientist.
Colour Me Beautiful Workshop.
Work Experience
Podcasting Workshop.
Pilate's.
Tag Rugby.
Dancing.
Mini-Company Workshops
Science Trip to the State Labs.
Fashion Show for Home Ec.
and many more.

So if you wanna do TY....(as Nike say) JUST DO IT!!!
